WHAT IS THE SASTM DIFFERENCE?
SASTM (sound assisted soft tissue mobilization) is a patented form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization technique. This instrument is the second generation of instrument created by David Graston, who originally developed the well known Graston Technique. What sets SASTM apart is that only gentle pressure need to be applied to the affected area to effectively break up adhesions. Both the doctor and the patient can feel the "sound" or vibration if an area of scar tissue is detected. The doctor and the patient can also feel the scar tissue being released. |

SASTM allows the doctor to analyze and treat the soft tissues at the same time. The instrument is glided over the soft tissue (muscles, tendons or ligaments) and it gives feedback to the Doctor as a vibration from the rough spots or adhesion in the tissue. Then the instrument can be used to comb out or break down the adhesion or scar tissue.

SASTM is an included service here at Dr. Jack Li Chiropractic. Unless specifically requested by the client, we use SASTM as part of the whole-body treatment, rather than it being the only method utilized. There is no additional service fee for SASTM, it is included in all services if indicated or requested.
